1. Hirsutism
This condition is the appearance of male-pattern hair growth in women. This may manifest as excessive or very dark hair on areas such as the face, chest, back and neck. Sometimes hirsutism is genetic, but it may also be caused by excessively high levels of the hormone: androgen. Medications and other external influences may also cause excessive hair growth.
Laser therapy, the process of passing concentrated laser light over the skin, can help to damage the extra follicles. This will prevent the hair from growing over a course of multiple treatments. Different areas may require varying levels of intensity and treatment lengths. If you think you are suffering from symptoms of hirsutism, or are looking for a treatment option, laser hair removal therapy may be the answer.
2. Acne & Scarring
Scarring from acne can prolong the discomfort, long after the pimples have faded. Many women find that acne scarring serves as a reminder of an uncomfortable time in their lives. Whilst topical creams and facials may help, there are more effective and faster-acting treatments available.
Non-ablative fractional laser treatments deliver small, concentrated beams of heat into the skin. This stimulates the replacement of old skin cells with new, healthy ones. The body produces more collagen in the area, plumping out divots and scars to produce an even skin tone. You don’t need to cover up your acne scars for life –non-ablative fractional laser is fast-acting and requires little downtime. You will be advised on how to properly care for your skin after the treatment.
3. Hormonal conditions
Women with hormonal imbalances such as Polycystic Ovary Syndrome and postmenopause may find an increase in dark or unusual body hair. Most commonly, this will be evident on the upper lip, neck and chest – all of these areas are easily treated with laser. Using the latest machines and highest quality lasers, Laser Couture is very experienced in the field of hormonally related hair-growth. Over a course of several treatments, laser treatment kills the hair follicle and prevent further hair growth. Several treatments are needed in order to deliver the laser to the entire area, at different stages of hair growth. This ensures that all hairs are ‘caught’.

4. Melasma
As well as assisting with scarring and acne marks, non-ablative fractional and IPL (Intense pulsed Light) laser treatment together can also improve the colouring and pigment of the skin. If you have an uneven skin tone, melasma or liver spots, a course of laser treatment may be able to help.
Melasma or ‘chloasma’ is a common skin condition, often affecting pregnant women. Melasma is simply irregular pigmentation in the face, causing brown or darkened patches to appear over time.
The strong, but safe, laser works to destroy the melanin-producing cells that darken the skin tone. Over several weeks or months, the marks will fade until barely noticeable. The only important process to note is that you must take extra care to protect your skin from the sun. Not only to prevent the melasma from coming back but also to care for the tender new skin that is produced as a result of the
treatment.
